- Our Permanent Research Unit (UPI) began to function in September 2017 and we have achieved more than 60 publications, including JCR articles, Case Studies, Books, Book Chapters and SCOPUS articles.

- Hackaton: “is a different way of interacting students, teachers and companies. It consists of posing a challenge for a company or companies to solve, in a limited time and with limited resources, as in real life.”
- The Inclusive Cultural Club between ESIC and the Achalay association: was born as an initiative of David Tanarro, coordinator of Liceo Achalay, and José Manuel López-Agulló, professor at ESIC. Organize cultural workshops on various topics, for which a first session of cineforum on the film 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' was scheduled.
- “Banco de Alimentos”/ Food bank: ESIC Business&Marketing School through its initiative #BetterTogether y másESIC. In response to the emergency situation generated by Covid19, launched an appeal in early May to citizens and companies in Madrid to be able to cope with the 30% increase in aid requested by almost 190,000 families in the Community.
- “La Operación Frío”: the students of ESIC Pozuelo, as well as the teaching and administrative staff of our School, have been bringing tents, thermal blankets, sleeping bags, coats and shoes, among other items, to try to make these months more bearable for the people of La Cañada Real de Madrid, who are at risk of social exclusion with addictions, homeless.
- Sweetening difficult moments: In the most complicated and difficult moments of the global pandemic of COVID-19, ESIC Business School through its #BetterTogether initiative has distributed more than 5,000 jars of jelly beans to various entities that have been working tirelessly these days.

ESIC is committed to achieving SDG5: Gender Equality, seeking to empower women and female students so that it has a multiplier effect, not only helping to promote economic growth, but also development at a global level, creating a fair and equal society.
In the following degree reports it can be seen the measurement of the entry profile, the dropout rate by profiles, the graduation rate, external internships, mobility students, teaching staff, etc.

- Admission policy: ESIC has an admissions policy which states that all staff involved in the admissions process of the ESIC University Area must comply with the requirements set out in this Policy on:

"ESIC is a higher education institution that is against any kind of discrimination and harassment in relation to all its stakeholders. - Scholarships: ESIC has the Woman + Leadership grant: The objective of this scholarship is to enable women with great potential and motivation to take a postgraduate program (MBA, IMBA or EMBA) at ESIC, at any of the campuses where they are taught. A scholarship of 50% of the tuition will be awarded.

- Tutorships:These include receiving students, finding out what motivates them to progress and gain self-confidence, guiding and advising them and accompanying students throughout their education. They also encourage students to interact, among other aspects. The tutors are at the disposal of all female students for any problem or need that may arise.
- Coordination Department and Students Services: ESIC’s coordinator has the purpose of attending to students by resolving their problems or questions, and they thereby support the work of tutors. Female students are therefore always able to consult a female coordinator if they prefer, to raise any type of question or need that may arise.
THROUGH UNIVERSITY OUTREACH:

ESIC has the Women + Leadership grant, as women are not under-represented in terms of areas of knowledge, but rather in terms of educational level. That is, while in degree and junior master’s degree courses women are present in a similar percentage to men, in management programs such as MBAs or Executive MBAs, as well as other upper management programs, the percentage of women drops in comparison with men.

- “ESIC and GIRA MUJERES” join forces to promote female talent: ESIC promotes with CocaCola a program which the finalist of the edition will be able to enrich their training with the specialized courses offered by ESIC, a leader in managent, marketing and technology training.
- Generating changes: Equality Plans for SME´s of the Community of Madrid: SMEs have the opportunity to reflect on and responsibly incorporate gender criteria that will enable them to improve both their competitive position and the social benefit they generate.
- ESIC Aragón and the Association of Businesswomen of the Province of Huesca have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of supporting the development and training of women and their businesses.
- Collaboration with the NGO Luz Casanova: Inclusion of women and minors who are victims of gender violence. In addition, 5 students have carried out active online volunteering as school support for children who suffer gender-based violence.
- Diversity Charter: Building a diverse workforce: the company should encourage the integration of people with diverse profiles (regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, beliefs, age, disability, etc.).

- ESIC 5 Cultures Project Our mission is to train professionals capable of creating companies or carrying out managerial or technical work, supported by two values that we share in ESIC: Commitment and Closeness. The "5 Cultures Project" was born to further root these values. The 5 cultures that complete our identity, that enrich our stamp, the seal of ESIC, the one that unites us and at the same time, differentiates us.
- ESIC also has the CCPE Regulatory Framework which specifies: “The community of students in ESIC will always act displaying deep respect for the diversity of others, respecting cultural, religious, gender, ideological and all other types of difference, within the school as well as outside it. They must always treat all ESIC personnel properly and with respect”.
- ESIC applies existing state policies regarding maternity and paternity leave.
- No restrictions are placed on reductions or extensions of timetables to encourage family conciliation. The timetables of all staff are adapted to conciliation processes, so there are as many timetables as there are people.
- It also has a policy of flexibility in the working day in the case of maternity as well as paternity leave, as well as for any other personal situation that has to be considered.
- Academic Guide University Area: Academic document containing a guide for students' conduct, “very serious misconduct: Discrimination on grounds of race, sex, religion, social status, opinion, place of birth or any other personal or social circumstance any other personal or social circumstance”.

Employment practice
ESIC works to stimulate economic growth in a sustainable way promoting policies that stimulate entrepreneurship and job creation among others, in its commitment to achieving the objectives of SDGs 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
- ESIC is subject to the state policies regarding minimum interprofessional salary, as well as ESIC pays its employees according to the following agreement: XIII State-level collective agreement for university education and research centers / XIII Statewide collective bargaining agreement for university education and research centers, but ESIC pays all its employees in all categories the basic salary and supplements above the agreement.
- Merco Ranking results: The Merco Empresas ranking once again included ESIC among the best companies in Spain with the best reputation and the greatest capacity to attract and retain talent, thanks to the evaluations among others of employees. One of the questions in the report is if you consider that you receive a salary consistent with the function performed.
- ESIC recognizes the right of association, of all workers, including international and women staff. At ESIC, a Electoral Board is established, as provided for in Article 73 of the Workers' Statute, which promotes the resolution to hold elections for the creation of a Works Council, at the request of the workers. The members of the Electoral Board are determined according to the data provided by the company and in accordance with Article 73.3 of the Workers' Statute. Meetings of the Works Council (mentioned in Articule 63.) are held periodically and the proposals and resolutions are reported through different channels.

- Non-discrimination at ESIC is a reality. Our work and learning spaces constitute a real environment where students, faculty and staff are a reflection of our society in which respect and coexistence prevail. For this reason, ESIC has launched the DUE (Diversity University-Company Diversity) Project, which articulates an organizational structure, procedures, policies and adequate resources to develop action plans each year that are integrated into the School's Quality Policy. The Project, of national scope, is directed by the General Secretary of ESIC, who is responsible for its monitoring, review and proposals for improvement

- ESIC, in its mission to develop ethical values and corporate social responsibility, is committed to promoting these values in everyone in the organization and, in turn, in society as a whole.
- As an academic institution committed to responsible leadership, is a member of the Spanish Network of the Global Agreement and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) promoted by the United Nations in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
- ESIC applies existing state policies on equal pay for men and women.
- Also, ESIC applies the Article 28 from the Workers' Statute “Equal pay for men and women”.

"Salary gap, glass ceiling and stress: an x-ray of women in the communication sector". - ESIC has signed "The Diversity Charter" ESIC has signed an agreement where the principles of equal opportunities and respect for diversity must be included in the company's values and be disseminated among employees.
- ESIC reports to MERCO the salary bands of workers, which make no distinction based on gender, as well as other data regarding working conditions.
- There is wage equality without distinction according to gender, and there has never been a difference in wages due to this reason. Wages are classified according to position and category, as well as academic level in the case of the teaching staff.
On the other hand, to ensure that women apply for management positions there is a process that guarantees equal opportunities for professional careers. - Equality plan has a diagnosis to measure salary deviations and positive and negative discrimination has been measured.

- There is an international development unit to recruit international students, staff and faculty.: With activities, agreements, academic partners and other international projects that allow faculty, staff and students to live and transfer the intangibles of internationalisation at every point of the "ESIC experience". For this reason, ESIC has integrated into many of its programmes international options, of long or short duration.

- ESIC buddy program: This program aims to help international students in the integration process in our campus and country.

- To recruit teachers / management staff:: ESIC has an agreement with Inserta, which is the national employment exchange for people with disabilities, designed to encourage hiring in the School of personnel with disabilities. Scholarships: ESIC has scholarships to postgraduates and undergraduates students aimed at people from under-represented groups:
For the undergraduate and graduate area the scholarships would be as follows:
- The Diversity Grant: This is for students of High School, IB Diploma, A levels, Baccalaureate (or the equivalent educational system) and Higher Degree Educational Courses, and who are studying any of the University qualifications offered by ESIC. It is for candidates who have a disability of 33% or more, and the sum of the grant will cover up to 30% of teaching fees. For postgraduate students ESIC has the Diversity Grant for candidates who have suffered discrimination or who have functional diversity.
For the undergraduate area in particular, the grants would be as follows:
- International mobility grant: ESIC tries to help international candidates from all over the world, supporting them so that they can from all over the world, supporting them so that they can carry out their university studies at one of ESIC's ESIC campuses in Spain.

- Women + Leadership grant: ESIC encourages applications by women through scholarships. - Talent grants: It is only for applicants to the Full Time MBA and International MBA programmes with a score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) more than 600 points*.
External´s scholarships:
- ONCE Foundation Scholarships called “Opportunity for talent”. ESIC decided to launch this scholarship in the face of the deficit and the demand for aid, which, among other things due to the economic crisis, existed by students with disabilities
- Expiga Grants Which have the aim of offering education to individuals who need to improve their education in the field of marketing and/or advertising, and who are employed by social organisations which work for the cause of peace and the development of the most disadvantaged people. These grants are aimed at Spanish individuals or those from countries where the opportunities for education are limited, and who will be able to have a positive influence on the who have a disability of 33% or more, and the sum of the grant will cover up to 30% of teaching fees.

- University Ombudsman: In order to ensure respect for the rights and freedoms of teachers, students and administrative and service staff in the actions of the different university bodies and services, ESIC has established the figure of the University Ombudsman in its organizational structure. Its actions, always directed towards the improvement of university quality in all areas, are governed by the principles of independence and autonomy
- ESIC has an equality plan that conceives an orderly set of measures designed to guarantee equal treatment of opportunities between men and women in the organisation and to prevent any type of discrimination in any group. ESIC has the aim of developing relationships in an area of non-discrimination, respect for diversity and promoting a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

- Quality Committee: which is responsible for ensuring the Quality Policy of ESIC and the revision of the Quality Management System, including those that affect Equality and Diversity.
- Equality Commission: The Equality Commission is made up of 6 members (3 men and 3 women) It is a joint commission, which meets at least once a year to monitor the measures proposed in the Equality Plan.

The Canvas platform was built using the most modern HTML and CSS technologies and is committed to W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative and Section 508 guidelines. Our Technical Unit for Diversity aims to provide support to all the people who are part of the Diversity Project.

- The Diversity Grant: This is for students who have a disability of 33% or more, and the sum of the grant will cover up to 30% of teaching fees. For postgraduate students ESIC has the Diversity Grant for candidates who have suffered discrimination or who have functional diversity.
- ONCE Foundation Scholarships called “Opportunity for talent”. ESIC decided to launch this scholarship in the face of the deficit and the demand for aid, which, among other things due to the economic crisis, existed by students with disabilities
- Expiga Grants: Which have the aim of offering education to individuals who need to improve their education in the field of marketing and/or advertising, and who are employed by social organisations which work for the cause of peace and the development of the most disadvantaged people. These grants are aimed at Spanish individuals or those from countries where the opportunities for education are limited, and who will be able to have a positive influence on the who have a disability of 33% or more, and the sum of the grant will cover up to 30% of teaching fees.
Measures for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
ESIC seeks to promote a peaceful and inclusive society for sustainable development, ensuring human rights by facilitating access to justice for all and creating an effective, responsible and inclusive institution at all levels.
- Steering Committee: is ESIC's highest governing body, and includes the Dean of Graduate and Corporate Education, and the Rector of ESIC University, who look after the interests of the student body. Faculty. The other members of the steering committee look after the interests of the different departments of ESIC involving all staff members.
- Students: through the delegates who meet every semester with the dean to pass on the class's doubts and suggestions. The delegates also participate in the "Degree Commissions" whose objective is to analyze the quality of the titulation in order to make improvements. They meet at least twice a year. - SDGs Observatory Lab: The Department of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Employment, in collaboration with ESIC, has set up three Social Transformation laboratories that aim to disseminate the principles and good practices of the social economy and transfer them to the rest of the actors in the productive sectors.

At ESIC we believe that strong international cooperation is needed now more than ever to ensure that countries and institutions that have been afected by the pandemic, recover and build back better and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Every year the School publishes its Annual Report following the standards of the Global Compact (ESIC is also a member of Global Compact since 2010), which sets out the ten principles in the field of human rights, work, the environment and the fight against corruption. The Annual Report by ESIC is an institutional reference document for our stakeholders, and it contains the most complete data on its management in 2019 demonstrating the Strategic Plan and transparency ESIC Business & Marketing School.
- ESIC, an academic institution committed to its mission and values, achieved the validation and publication of its first Progress Report in 2012 as a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact). The business school carries out the development of ethical values and corporate social responsibility through its Social Responsibility Project, with the aim of promoting ethical values in all members involved in the institution as well as society in general. The United Nations Global Compact encompasses all CSR-related actions and is a strategic initiative for companies that commit to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
- Observatory on SDGs: The Regional Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labour presented the launch of three Social Transformation laboratories, including the first ODS Laboratory in the Valencian Community in which ESIC Business and Marketing School is fully involved. It is a meeting point university-business-public institutions, to bring research and development of innovative proposals and especially to its productive fabric, on the articulation of sustainability through the contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ESIC organises and participates in many workdays and cross-sector conferences in connection with the SDGs. Some recent examples are shown below:
- One of the closest examples is the "SDG Fest: KNOW, AWARE AND ACT. 5 INSPIRING CASES”. This webinar puts the emphasis on these different stages and invited 5 different organisations to share their experience in their journey to know, raise awareness and act in and from their organisation, encouraging other social agents.

- ESIC collaborates with Associations and Institutions internationally. We report and support the initiative projects of the following associations in areas of SDGs:

Student volunteering programmes:
- Orbayu: is a non-profit foundation of the SCJ Congregation whose purpose is to grant microcredits in the third world. ESIC and GRUPO SANTALUCÍA also participate in the foundation.
- Más ESIC: It is a group of volunteers made up of students and teachers, which allows us to grow as a person by helping others. The initiative, launched in 2013, aims to contribute to creating a better and more caring world. ESIC collaborates with the following non-profit organizations this year:
- SDG 1. Caritas and Fundación San Martín de Porres - EAPN Institutions that fight against social exclusion and poverty with which we have developed Webinars to increase the visibility of their work and social awareness of the problems they face.
- SDG 2. Food Bank and Fundación Madrina: Participation in the "Gran Recogida del Banco de Alimentos" and "Operación Kg" respectively to fight against social exclusion.
- SDG 3. Health and Community Foundation - Fundación Instituto San José: ESIC has participated in "Operation Cold" with these two foundations that fight against social exclusion. ESIC organises blood donations
- SDG 4 and 8. Verón Fundation: Educational projects that improve social and labor social and labour integration.
- SDG 5. Luz Casanova: Inclusion of women and minors who are victims of gender violence. In addition, 5 ESIC students have carried out a online active volunteering as school support for minors who suffer gender violence.
- SDG 10. Achalay, Inclusive Cultural Club: Opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to expand their work and personal skills.
- SDG 10 and 2. Tossall.org: support for the solidarity and social shopping and sales platform by the organisation of an online solidarity market to raise funds for the construction of a social soup kitchen in Ecuador.
- SDG 16. Tumaini NGO NGO that connects volunteers with development projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
- SDG 16. NGO "Cooperación Internacional: Social transformation through volunteering, awareness, innovation and development. ESIC has actively participated in the toy operation "An smile for Christmas", promoting solidarity and volunteering.
Development of educational resources:
- ESIC, since its inception, has a commitment to an education around the SDGs: ESIC's mission: To disseminate in society a culture based on ethical values and business rationality that allows dialogue between the university and the company to train students in the requirements requested by companies and encourage entrepreneurship.
- This year ESIC has inaugurated the Higher Degree in Sustainability Management, providing future business leaders with knowledge and awareness of the importance of sustainability
- In all the final projects of Master programmes, it is required that topics related to sustainability appear. In addition, as an example, the International MBA, has 252 hours referring to social, ethical and CSR issues.
