INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIPS IN MOBILITY

One of ESIC University's main areas of improvement is to get our students to do extracurricular internships outside Spain, more specifically in the largest multilateral organisations in the world. That is why the Vice-Rectorate for International Affairs is working to locate institutions that have summer internship programmes or any other programme for the development of young talent, where we are sure that the ESIC University student profile would be a perfect fit.

The Vice-rectorate for International Affairs is in the process of locating these organisations, as well as identifying recruitment methods and requirements for selection. The short-medium term objective is to prepare our future students on the basis of the fundamental requirements of these organisations, so that when they are in the third, fourth or fifth year of their degree they will have the best possible chance of gaining access to these institutions.

practicas

ESIC University's teaching model is perfectly aligned with what is in demand in today's market, as well as future trends. In addition, the ESIC University student profile is defined by their ability to solve problems, their adaptability and their ability to work in a team, three essential skills in any international organisation, as well as a high average level of English and a second foreign language.

ESIC University's top priority is to increase and improve the international offer, where we know the future of ESIC University students lies. Our institution has been committed to a completely international approach for years, offering degrees entirely in English and establishing agreements with more than 120 international institutions. That is why the next natural step for us is to aspire to the most prestigious organisations on the international scene, where we know that ESIC University has its place.

Given these reasons, we encourage our students to consider undertaking their internships in an international setting, with the hours completed being recognized towards their mandatory internship requirements for the completion of their university degree.

HAVE YOU ALREADY DECIDED TO LIVE AN UNFORGETTABLE INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE?

Here are some recommendations to keep in mind in order to be well prepared for it

STUDENT TIMELINE

The following timeline represents a typical fall and spring semester. Students should review frequently their online checklist and the communications received in their email by the receiving and sending institution.

Access online portal

Once students are notified of their nomination, they should check their virtual campus. This way, they will have access to more detailed information about international mobility.

From the virtual campus -> Resources; International Area

From the international area, you will have access to documents that explain international programs in detail. Including aspects such as:

  • Basic requirements for participation in the international program
  • Learning Agreements
  • Financing
  • Application process
  • Placement assignment

Confirm spot

We ask students to communicate to the International Relations Office the confirmation of their desire to go on an international experience, as well as any inquiries or modifications to their initial plan, whether to extend or shorten their stay at the destination University.

Attend Welcome Event

It is fundamental to prepare for the international experience to go as calmly as possible and not leave everything to the last moment.

To keep up to date with news, you can contact the International Relations Office by email at the following address: og@esic.university

Register for courses

To complete all the necessary information and prevent future problems, you must register correctly at the destination university.

Your destination university will contact you once your nomination has been accepted, you must provide them with the requested information (usually consisting of a photo, personal data, Identity Document, academic record, language accreditation, among others).

Continue Checking the Enrollment Portal

Students should continue completing required tasks from now up until (and after) arrival in their study away location.

Book flight

ESIC University does not arrange group flights or book travel for students studying away. Students are encouraged to book the flight with enough time to take advantage of lower prices.

Review health, wellness and social documents

Review the health requirements of the country of destination to verify that it meets all the necessary regulations to be able to reside in the country legally and thus guarantee that your stay in the country will be the best possible.

In case of being a European citizen and going to live in a country within the European Union, verify that documents such as; the DNI, the European Health Card, among others, will be valid with more than three to six months from your expected date of return to Spain.

If you are a student at another University check the health requirements of the Spanish government to verify that you comply with the regulations to be able to legally reside in the country in terms of social, economic, and health aspects.

All non-ESIC University students must activate their virtual campus profile and then set up their student email, the Incoming Manager will facilitate the account details to the students.

Print out documents

We always recommend carrying essential identification and residency documents in case of an emergency, such as:

  • ID card / Passport
  • European Health Insurance Card / Health Insurance Card
  • Certificate of Stay at the Destination University
  • Certificate of Residence
  • Flight tickets
  • Visa if aplicable

CONDITIONS TO BE ABLE TO REALIZE THIS EXPERIENCE

ESIC University requires its students to have passed all official subjects from the 1st year in order to participate in their international experience.

Additionally, depending on the country where the student plans to study, an English language certificate is often required, with a minimum level of B2 or higher.

INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES

información familias

We are thrilled to provide support to students, outgoing and incoming, who are preparing for a semester of new experiences, cross-cultural immersion, academic rigor, and significant personal growth, as we belief choosing to study away is one of the best decisions a student can make.

Families and universities alike, we ask you to talk to your children and students, making them aware of the wonderful experience and opportunity of studying abroad for an academic period. We live in a time when, thanks to globalization, this challenge is simplified in such a way that allows you to make the most of the experience and focus mainly on enjoying yourself.

To give support to your children and help them overcome the fear that may arise before and during the international experience, family and friends are key. Here are some ways to be involved:

  • Review the requirements needed to life in the receiving country: Do we need a Visa? How well connected is the University? What´s the expected cost of living?
  • Develop a communication plan and put it into practice during the experience.
  • Meet the receiving university enrollment documents and the settled deadlines.
  • Do not hesitate to contact our International Office for further information.
